About Us

Sonic Hong Kong is an ongoing community research project exploring layers of history, hidden stories, and living experiences of Hong Kong through sonic expressions. The multidisciplinary research has several sub-projects with different themes. We explore how sound can be used as an artistic medium to tell stories unique to Hong Kong, and how the culture, personality of this place and its people shape the sound of this city.

The research is led by Juri HWANG, a faculty in Film Academy of Hong Kong Baptist University in collaboration with Crystal Lee and Giann Leung, the students from Arts and Technology at HKBU.
